Hey you!
Do you remember the very first post that launched this blog?
It was just a random day in January 2023. I had been scrolling through countless Valentine’s Day packages, and honestly, none of them felt right to me. I thought people needed to be more intentional about the way they gift their partners. Instead of just ranting “a.k.a., yap” on my WhatsApp status, I decided to take it a step further, I played around and opened a Substack account.
Funny enough, I never liked being called a writer. I didn’t think I was qualified to be one. But if there’s one thing I’ve always known how to do, it’s telling stories with words, and visuals now😌. The way my mind works makes this space feel like home. And for the past two years, I’ve done my best to show up and write to you, even if it was just once a month.
You know, one of the things that has kept me going is your feedback and actions. Even when I’m just sharing my personal journey through life, I see the numbers, and sometimes, they outperform even the most well-curated topics. I guess we’re all living the same reality, facing our own versions of shege, but pushing through regardless. Those DMs, the random tags with excerpts from my pieces, they mean the world to me. Just the other day, I opened LinkedIn and saw a message from someone thanking me for my last piece. I was genuinely surprised, but it meant so much. At least now, I know I haven’t just been yapping into the void. Lol.
“I have seen too many newcomers succeed for me to limit myself to it’s an oversaturated market. Start and do your thing!” -Osas
I said all of that to say there’s a new section on this blog: "REVISTA: The Lens Through You."
After starting my writing journey on Substack, I had this idea of using my blog to help small businesses tell their brand stories and reach a wider audience. But for one reason or another, I put it on hold and never got around to it that year. Now, the vision has grown beyond that, and the best part? I’m not doing it alone. I have a small team kicking this off with me, and I couldn’t be more excited!
A few things to note:
This series will have its own dedicated section in the newsletter. You can always find it in your mail box or the dashboard on Substack. If you've been subscribed to my previous content, you're already in!
New editions drop on Fridays, giving you the perfect time to enjoy a good read over the weekend, especially the longer pieces. While this is intended to be a bi-weekly publication, we might not be able to maintain that schedule just yet. But for now, you can look forward to receiving a newsletter from us on Fridays. PS: This doesn’t affect the regular newsletters from Temibillions.
If you’d love to volunteer as a writer, editor, graphic designer, or in any other role you think would add value, send us an email at workatrevista.ng@gmail.com. Let’s create something amazing together!
This journey involves a lot of learning and unlearning, especially for me. It’s one of many things I have on my plate, and trust me, it requires a lot of mental effort. So, when you see our articles, please engage! Your support means everything.
We want to hear from you! What categories would you love to read about? Which brands, startups, or individuals should be interviewed and featured? Drop your suggestions. We’re open to them all!
