One of the things on my bucket list for this year was to attend a concert, and I finally got to tick that off in June. Yes, June—the same June I almost lost my face, my life. I had an allergic reaction that left my entire mouth region swollen. It was pretty bad.
About a month before that happened, I had already bought a ticket for Anendlessocean’s (AEO) Hexagon Tour in Ibadan. At first, I thought I wouldn’t be able to attend; not only was I recovering, but I also had an exam scheduled for the morning of the concert. AEO is one of my favorite artists, and his music truly makes me happy, so missing it felt like a big loss. But I started feeling a bit better, even though part of my face was still swollen and I was on meds. I managed to sit for my exam, came home, and then debated on whether to go or not. You already know the outcome—I went, dressed and looked really pretty, and I loved every single second of it. That evening has to be one of my favorite moments ever.
Even though I paid the price with aches and extra medication the next day, I’m so glad I went. It was the perfect ending to my June.
Now, AEO has a concert coming up in Lagos on December 1st, and I’m tempted to go again. It would check off another bucket list item: attending a concert with my sister(She’s attending), as we wait for the day we’ll finally get to see James Arthur live—that’s a lifetime goal. But you see, T-pain’s economy is currently holding my neck, arghh.
If you’re into Gospel, Rock, Indie, and R&B kinda sounds, you should definitely check out Anendlessocean. No bad songs, I said what I said! And speaking of, he just dropped a new album today, so we’re officially declaring OCTAGON as the album of the day for this newsletter.
So, what’s something from your bucket list that you’ve ticked off? Tell me in the comments!
Are you coming for the hexagon tour 🥹?
