Hey you!🌚
I know I clearly stated that I'm just a young girl trying to navigate her twenties (that's one of the purposes of this blog, yeah?), so I'm reminding you as I share my experiences on what my eyes have been seeing journeying through adulthood, both the good and bad, and everything in between.
Hear me out, it's not like I've been suffering from writer's block; in fact, I've been writing a lot of difficult pieces, and the one you're reading is one of them. I was hoping there wouldn't be any controversy because that's why I haven't published the majority of them.
Now let's move to the business of the day. I hope you're with me?
The first thing I think I've lately come to terms with is that time doesn't wait for you to find yourself. The world would not wait for you to catch up since time flies so quickly.
These popular statements that "you're still in your early 20s, take your time, and slow down" are so untrue. 🌚 Breathe o, I'm not saying you shouldn't breefff but if you're in your early twenties like me, I don't expect you to be snoozing away your life.
Personally, I believe that now is the perfect moment to act, begin organizing your life, and explore as many different options as you can if doing so will help you find a direction and a reason for where you're heading. Right now, you still have the advantage of exploring, but be careful not to lose yourself in the process. Additionally, I believe that now is the perfect moment to broaden your view of the world because, even if you make mistakes now, you still have time to correct them, and no one would really blame you (Ask those late 20s and 30+ folks, people would say they're responsible for their actions, “adult ni e nauu”).
Even though you might not completely agree with what I've said, I know it's not a coincidence that I met someone in person and spoke to another person on the phone, both of them are people I haven't seen in a while, almost a year or two. I had a great conversation with them and as someone who learns from experiences, I took away from the conversations that "don't sleep on yourself, you're not too young to have a great life, pick those dreams and start working on them now." I am being challenged, so I am also challenging you. Sometimes, we avoid asking ourselves the question "what have I been doing really ?" just to make peace with the fact that God's time is the best(pray for directions o!) but the truth is if you don't push for it, you might never get to the best so do the work to get to the best.
If you're in Nigeria, you'll know better that it's a struggle out here, so get your shit together.
Explore, try new things if what you're doing is not working out for you, here is where I say that exposure is power. If you're intentional about discovering who you are, you need to have a mind shift while doing it because lack of exposure robs you of some vision, my guy. Shamelessly sell what you have as value, don't hide under "things will get better" without putting in the effort. Shoot your shot o; If you need help with that, you can contact me, just for a little fee.😌
If you feel attacked, don’t worry I feel the same too🥺, just make sure you tighten your seatbelt cause I have tightened mine.🙂
Wo my dear, that’s all for Pt 1, I hope you learned something? expect Pt 2 as your new month gift, I feel like writing about love/relationship, laughs in 3D🙂😂😂, anyway You know how we do it! Like, comment before you leave and share your favorite part on your socials, tag meeeee so I can at least say thank you.😁
