When God's Leading Involves Those You Love.
Before You Explain, Pray.
Hey you,
It’s been a minute. I hope you’ve been doing well.
Earlier today, something profound crossed my mind, and I felt it was worth sharing. Maybe it’s something you need right now, or perhaps it’s a thought you’ll save for the future.
Sometimes, we feel a strong pull, a persistent intuition or a clear leading from God, that nudges us toward a decision. But the challenge isn’t always knowing what God wants us to do. Often, the real struggle is how to explain that decision to people who matter deeply to us, especially when it impacts their expectations, sacrifices, or even their own lives.
Think about it. You’ve spent six or seven years studying medicine at a private university, with your parents funding the entire journey. Then, somewhere along the way, you discover that your true gift and calling lie in content creation. You see doors open, opportunities unfold, and God’s undeniable hand upon you in that space. Deep down, you know He has a purpose for you there. But how do you explain that shift to the very people who invested so much in a different vision for you?
Or imagine this: you receive a clear go-ahead from God to move to another city. The decision doesn’t make logical sense on the surface, but you know it is God-led. The complication? You have a partner whose life is closely tied to yours, and now you must share a decision that will also affect them deeply.
These are not easy conversations. And truthfully, there will always be moments, even in smaller, everyday things, where the leading of God requires the understanding of others.
Here’s the point I’m getting at: when you find yourself in situations where God’s leading has implications for people you care about, ask God to speak to them before you do. Invite Him into the conversation ahead of you. He is more than able to prepare their hearts, align their perspectives, and bring clarity in ways you never could on your own.
I’ve witnessed this recently, and it was a powerful reminder: God is faithful. You can always pray, entrust the situation to Him, and watch Him settle matters beyond your expectations. Even when you don’t know how to explain yourself, He knows how to explain you.
So, the next time obedience feels complicated because others are involved, remember, you’re not navigating that tension alone. Trust God to go ahead of you. Trust Him to soften hearts. Trust Him to settle things. And watch how He does it in ways you never imagined.
Something for your ears.🎶 Gbogbonise - Pelumi Deborah
